Cartoon Portraits: A Journey Through Faces and Connections (2014–2016)
This collection is a vibrant time capsule of over 150 portraits, created between 2014 and 2016, and showcases both early and more recent works. What began as a simple self-portrait evolved into an artistic journey fueled by community and creativity.
It all started at the Glendale Galleria Apple Store, where I worked as a Genius. Inspired by the camaraderie of my team, I began sketching their portraits, kicking off a project affectionately dubbed “R001!” From there, it spiraled—friends, acquaintances, and even Instagram followers joined in, eager to be part of the growing portrait series.
Each portrait captures more than just a likeness; it’s a snapshot of connection, creativity, and the joy of bringing people together through art. While the sheer volume eventually became overwhelming, the goodwill and enthusiasm these portraits generated remain some of my most cherished memories.
Now, for the first time, all these portraits are presented in their original Instagram order, offering a unique look at the evolution of this project. Dive into the faces, stories, and moments that defined this extraordinary chapter of my artistic journey.
