Working closely with author Maegan Alexandria, I had the privilege of illustrating the covers for both books in her Canvas Carvers series. Guided by her detailed briefs, I aimed to visually capture the series’ themes of love, self-discovery, and the blurred lines between good and evil. Each cover was crafted to complement the narrative’s dark, immersive atmosphere while offering a unique glimpse into Andrew Godfrey’s journey. Our collaboration brought these evocative designs to life, earning both books stellar reviews and resonating with readers and collectors alike.

The design for the first book cover of Canvas Carvers captures the haunting duality of love and self-discovery at the heart of Andrew Godfrey’s journey. With a predominantly black and green palette, the striking yellow mirror draws the viewer into the story’s central mystery, showcasing the imprisoned soul of the woman Andrew loves. The figure of Andrew, back turned, creates a sense of introspection and desperation, mirroring his emotional turmoil. The cover not only aligns with Maegan Alexandria’s vision but also intrigues readers, setting the tone for the dark and captivating narrative within.

The cover for the second installment in Canvas Carvers expands the series’ visual identity while maintaining its eerie allure. Dominated by earthy browns and yellows, the intricately detailed Larouche Hotel emerges as a powerful symbol of the secrets and challenges Andrew must face. The monochromatic inks, paired with the vegetation and atmospheric perspective, evoke a sense of mystery and timelessness. Andrew’s figure, walking toward the hotel, invites readers to follow his journey while reinforcing themes of leadership and redemption. This design perfectly encapsulates the evolution of the series, reflecting Maegan Alexandria’s vision with precision and artistry.
